Broadcast TV Surcharge
At iFIBER, we are committed to providing our customers with quality TV programming at a reasonable price and we work hard to minimize costs on your behalf. However, the content fees that broadcast TV stations charge iFIBER to carry their channels have increased dramatically over the past several years.
Federal law allows local U.S. broadcast television stations (i.e. affiliates of networks such as CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, etc.) to negotiate with cable providers in order to obtain "consent" to carry their broadcast signals (Cable Television Consumer Protection and Competition Act of 1992).
These local TV signals were historically made available to us at low to no cost. However, in recent years the prices demanded by local broadcast TV stations have necessitated that we pass these costs on to our customers as a "Broadcast TV Surcharge."
At iFIBER our goal is to provide the best possible service at low, competitive prices for our customers. While we do our best to avoid billing increases, the particular circumstances of this situation have forced us to make these increases to your bill.
Please refer to your bill for other TV pricing changes.
Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this might cause. We appreciate your patronage and the ability to continue to provide you with fast, reliable service.
